Art or War Concept Story

Since I have fallen for this concept I decided to make it its own thread. Ive been drawing like mad lately and have produced a few humorous items along with the story of the project code named, Art or War.

The Story,

A very prestigious all girls school run by a Ms. Thomasina I. Cora (TIC) is in its prime. Run by women for the education of women in a loving nurturing environment. Its reputation is spotless and its acedemics flawless. Though this is all and well Thomasina, even though the Dean, is pressured by the board of directors who are all men. Their sister school, or brother school as it were, is an all boys school. Two months ago this school burned down due to ancient wiring that shorted out (some say it was the gods/spirits and their anger with men). Now a school, that was once female only, is forced to take on 1/4 of the boys schools population. Thomasina knows that this is temporary until she finds out that the board of directors is thinking of just merging her school with that of the boys, therefore allowing the boys stay there indefinatly. Thomasina is heart broken, the school that she built is going to be destroyed because of politics. So she takes action, a spot on the board of directors opens up, she applies, she is denied. Even though they do not say it to her face the board is, men only. Taking drastic measures Thomasina changes herself from female to male, to infiltrate the board of directors and attempt to take the chairmans vote. Ms. Thomasina I. Cora becomes Mr. Thomas I. Callahan

In the mean time an aspiring Art teacher moves into the neighborhood near the school. Toby O. Capulet (TOC) has just graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts from the most prestigious university on the continent. But having done that he now has no money, flat broke and nearly starving he is forced to move in with his cousins, aunts, quirky old grandma. Old and crotchety are kind words for the old battle axe. Toby seeing the school on the hill investigates only to find out they have lost a few of their teachers due to the merging of the boys school with the girls. One position is that of the Art instructor. With high hopes of applying and being accepted as their new art instructor Toby makes his way to the school. The deans aide there (Mitsurou) informs him (quite snapishly) that they have no room for men and that this is a prestegious "GIRLS SCHOOL". Besides what do men know of art other then the pronography they covet so. Crushed and angered by her harsh words Toby returns to grandmas house. Penniless and jobless Toby frantically searches for a plan, trying a few different jobs (ie Ramen shop, convience store, traffic warden) only to find he has no talent but that of art. It is then that grandma suggests the idea of disguise. Toby is taken aback, never had he considered dressing up at the opposite sex, it was absurd. But with money running low, his anger at the school and their close minded views, and his love of art, Toby takes the step. Mr. Toby O. Capulet becomes Ms. Tabbitha O. Corrin

The students are satiracle jab at anime. The Bear is your typical "strong" guy and is a satire on all the meat head shy guys in anime. The fox is the "samuri" student who seems to excell in everything and is head of every club. Problem is he wants nothing to do with any of it. The students around him keep voting him into these situations. He is ridgid and stuck up, seemingly part of his "samuri" training but in all reality he cannot even use the sword he carries around and knows no martial arts. The female squirrel is your typical shy shy shy girl but has the unfortunate luck of being bonded with a giant mech. She wants nothing to do with it but it always seems to be there. The boy squirrel is your typical "harem comedy" girl magnet. He seems to attract women like shit attracts flies. Hes not too clever and none to handsome. No one can understand why the girls flock after him. He wants utterly nothing to do with the women. Abigail is the only normal one besides TIC and TOC in the school.

But all these characters and special instances take a back seat to TOCs story. They are all just little jabs here and there at anime and the like. The episodes dont use situational driven plot (aka quest/mission/ oh noes a biggy evily monster is attacking) the episodes are all character driven centering almost exclusivly around TIC and TOC. All these students and happenings happen in the background. All the battles and typical anime fun are background noise to the story. Mostly all you get to see is the aftermath. TOC arrives to class to see a few kids in bandages, a missing wall, giant smoking holes in the courtyard, etc. He thinks nothing of these things and goes on doing his best to be the best teacher possible. The students are sub sub plot and seasoning. They add a framework of color and background to TIC and TOCs story. There probably wont be any exciting mech battles or magic fights, instead having it all implied by foreshadowing or seeing the aftermath.

Ive written it to be a cross gender highschool comedy about two people struggling against a world that will not allow them to be who they are.
